IPL 2027 Window Confirmed: March 22 To May 28

The BCCI has locked the 2027 window and is expected to publish the full fixture list next month.

The BCCI has confirmed the IPL 2027 window in a circular sent to all ten franchises on Saturday. The tournament will run from 22 March to 28 May 2027, a 10-week structure that mirrors the 2026 cycle.

What changes

Beyond the confirmed window, the most significant change is the revised retention cap of five players per franchise — a one-player increase from the 2026 cycle. The 2027 auction purse of ₹146 crore, up from ₹120 crore, gives franchises substantially more room to bid for marquee players.

What to watch

The full fixture list is expected next month, alongside the venue allocation. Expect a return to the home-and-away format used in the 2023-2026 cycles, with the playoff round hosted at neutral venues.
